I got to appreciate Goa even more when I came back to Hyderabad. Goa is such a beautiful place especially this time of year when everything is so green and there are not so many tourists there. I really miss the scooter rides, because you can not really enjoy it in the same way anywhere else in India.
Claire and some others are going to Mumbai this weekend. I’m not sure yet if I’ll go with them. I’m sure Mumbai is a spectacular city, but I don’t know anybody who would actually like the city. It is the biggest city in India, by the way.
Pike is trying to get a ticket to go to Thailand with us. Let’s hope she can come, it would be so great!

Murmeli goes India 
Really great pictures. I like it always when you post some pictures alongside the blog entries. I like reading the entries too, but seeing pictures makes everything more lively.
Goa sure sounds really spectacular place to visit. Especially after the big city like Hyderabad the possibility to see all the green things must be refreshing.
Pictures sure help make the story come to life. I would also like to post some pictures into the blog itself, but I found that too cumbersome when I was posting the first India pictures in here. Maybe I’ll try putting just one or two pictures into the blog along with the text and put the rest of the pictures into the gallery.
Goa was definitely a huge relief after the big cities. The other place that really interests me from this point of view is the north, obviously. From Ben and Magera I heard stories from there, especially about the two-days-long jeep ride from the city of Manali to the city of Leh in the most northern state of India, Jammu and Kashmir. That road is the second highest highway (literally a _high_ way 🙂 in the world (somewhere at the altitude of 5000m if I remember correctly) and the scenery is spectacular. Unfortunately the road does not open until in July, so I would have to stay here even longer than expected if I planned to take that trip. Now it is getting late to go there because they get the first snow in September. But there are also other great treks you can make in the north, also by hiking, which I am really looking forward to. But no plans yet, let’s wait until next year 🙂
I was raised in Goa but now am a US resident – your pictures made me veey nostalgic , especially since you took them during the monsoon – the threatening clodus – wow!
